What does it mean "Licensed Lyrics"?

Lyrics are protected by copyright laws and cannot be reproduced without permission. Writers of lyrics and their publishers have the rights to these lyrics. TypeSet Brand sought permission and paid for the right to reproduce these lyrics in small collectible formats.

Why are there some band names but not all of them?

Songs are written by writers, distributed by publishers and band names are trademarked and protected under law. Some bands may give permission to use their name whereas others will not. Band names are protected so people cannot reproduce it without permission.

Why do you offer selected Limited Editions?

From time to time we will be offering Limited Edition lyric shirts and other items. These will be focused on newer up-and-coming artists and songwriters making it a great gift and a unique collectible.

I am an artists and would like my lyrics to be part of TypeSet Brand Lyric Program. What do I do?

Have your people contact our people. However, if you are self-publishing contact us and we can work out a solution. You should have your music on a platform such as Spotify. We can help you determine the size of your limited editions. Let's chat.

Why don't you create artwork for the lyrics?

We celebrate the great words in these songs. Lyrics can be very subjective, meaning they can mean something different for everyone. If we tried to make artwork the approval process would be prohibitive. If you want a product, featuring artwork with bands we encourage you to visit the links to each artist's merchandise.

Why just black with white lettering?

This years editions are white on black. In the future there may be different editions in different colors. Watch for holiday products that may connect colors to the season and lyric. For now, these are not mass produced so we want the uniqueness of the products.

I have a song that means so much to me, can I request it to be made into a shirt?

Absolutely! We love requests. Just use the contact form and we will be in touch.

What does First Edition Number guarantee mean?

TypeSet Brand lyric shirts are each assigned a number depending on quantity. Your shirt could be 1 of 50, 1 of 100, 1 of 200, or 1 of 500 up to 50 of 50, 100 of 100, 200 of 200, 500 of 500, or something in between. For example, if you get the number 27/500, we guarantee that will be the only 27/500 of the edition and the lyric.
